re-Cycles would have a much harder time without the help of our sponsors and friends, and we thank them for their wonderful support! We look forward to a continued relationship with everyone involved, and we return the favours whenever possible by holding workshops for them or partaking in their special events.
MEC contributes to re-Cycles as part of their commitment to helping local initiatives. When we first set up shop they donated most of the tools and workstands that we needed. Over the years they have maintained a budget for us, so that we can keep replace broken tools and other supplies. Our thanks to MEC and Rebecca Goostrey, their Social & Environmental Responsibility Co-ordinator.
Peter Conroy, the proprietor of this Glebe-area shop, continues to give us a discount when we need to acquire tools and parts that we cannot obtain from MEC. Please give him your business for those new bikes, parts and accessories that we do not carry.
Bicycles for Humanity takes bikes, parts, and tools, and creates "Bicycling Empowerment Centres" that they then ship to Africa. And since we seem to always have more bicycles than we can process, BfH takes our overflow. We're especially happy to be able to include the knobby mtn. bike tires we've been collecting, as they are invaluable on the unpaved roads and tracks of rural Africa. Check out our webpage about the 2007 collection.
